Who can have LASIK?

Individuals above age 18 that are nearsighted, farsighted and/or have astigmatism. You must have a stable prescription prior to LASIK surgery. Stabilization sometimes does not occur until the mid-20s.

How do I know if I am a candidate for LASIK?

We can inform you of your general candidacy for LASIK and refer you to a refractive surgeon. They will do additional testing to assure you are a candidate prior to any surgery.

Will my insurance cover the treatment?

You need to check with your insurance. Some policies will cover the treatment.

What is the recovery time?

Most people are able to return to work within 24 to 48 hours after treatment.

How long does the LASIK procedure take?

The laser treatment takes less than 10 minutes for each eye.

Is the treatment painful?

No. Prior to laser treatment eye drops are placed into the eye to numb the area. There may be a slight pressure felt during treatment. It will subside once the procedure is done.
